At end of 2003, Greensboro Chapter 304 was merged with Winston-Salem Chapter 82

The highlight of each chapter year from 1952-1972 was the Annual Ladies Night and Installation of Officers held at the Women's Club in Thomasville, NC. Each year during this time, the Society national president was invited to attend and participate, and many Society national presidents did attend.

Editor's note: In recent years, since the 2003 Merger with Chapter 304, Chapter 82 has held an annual year-end Holiday Dinner or Lunch and Installation of Officers at various locations around Greensboro and Winston-Salem, with significant others/family as well as student members from SME Student Chapter S044 of NCA&T State University in Greensboro, NC. Marcus Crotts, SME Fellow member, founding member of Chapter 82, past Chapter Chair, past President of SME International (2002), usually does the honor of swearing in the new officers each year at this event.
